Program Overview

The Art As Therapy program is an ongoing discussion group where adult artists of all experience levels address several prompts designed to heal their relationship with their craft, encourage reflection and positivity, and learn the diverse array of perspectives offered by their peers. This program runs for a total of 6 months. There will be monthly meetings held 4 weeks apart where the artists will share what they accomplished since the last meeting, discuss a topic related to the prompts, and then brainstorm for the next project. Each month, the artists will receive two prompts. They can choose one or the other, or complete both. These prompts were designed to be done in the specific order they’re presented in, but artists may choose to complete whichever prompts they feel will benefit them the most. During the final meeting, the artists will reflect on the program as a whole. If they choose, they may submit work that they completed during the program to be part of an exhibition showcasing their journeys over the last 6 months. Details on the exhibition are TBD.
