Open from Saturday, November 18th to December 17th, this showcase promises a unique exploration of cultural richness, creativity, and the essence of Diwali. The exhibition is set to feature the distinctive perspectives and creations of the three artists, each contributing a unique touch to the canvas. Beyond a mere display of artistic prowess, the goal is to inspire a celebration of hope, joy, and light, echoing the spirit of Diwali. Open to the public and free of charge, this cultural extravaganza invites art enthusiasts, cultural connoisseurs, and anyone eager to embrace the festive spirit. “The Row of Lights” invites you to celebrate the Festival of Lights in a truly enchanting way.

Meet the Artists

Ravindra Kamath (Ravi), a self-taught artist from Karnataka, India, draws inspiration from the natural world. His art, ranging from elaborate nature scenes to abstract works, reflects on the plight of the common man, especially through the lens of society. Having moved to America in 2002, Ravi's earlier conceptual pieces explored feelings of change and disconnection, while his detailed landscapes and florals now seamlessly blend with abstract elements, creating surreal and emotionally resonant works.

 

Rum Hansra’s work delves into the byways and highways of memory, creating a bold, vivid visual language through layering and collaging. Navigating the twists and turns of personal history, Rum's pieces challenge assumptions, leading viewers on a journey laden with surprise and revelation. Each fragment layered metaphorically represents a life experience, sparking introspection and exploration.

Sukeshi Sondhi, A multidisciplinary artist, explores identity, migration, an d domesticity through various mediums, including painting, collage, installation, and performance art. Her objective is to transform the everyday, elevating the mundane to make visible the invisible. Sukeshi's work invites viewers to contemplate the intricacies of daily life, revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary.
